The New Light Bulbs - CFLs

Postby T.W. on Sun May 18, 2008 10:47 am

You may be hearing a lot about compact fluorescent lights - they're being touted for energy savings. Regular light bulbs will eventually be phased out. While it's always good to look at ways to save energy and think "green," there are a few things you should know about CFLs.

One very important thing is that they contain mercury. Even this small amount, if broken, could create a massive cleanup inside your home. And there are other potential risks if they end up in landfills.
