Prednisone, peach fuzz and a certain age

Prednisone, peach fuzz and a certain age

Postby KarenB on Sun Sep 28, 2008 12:35 pm

Long-term use of prednisone has many side effects. One of them is excessive facial hair. I'm no longer on this medication, but am still battling the peach fuzz that remains on my face. Now, I also tend to "inspect" other people and see that women who are older also seem to develop this fuzz; some are downright hairy.

Don't have any idea why I put off doing something about it for so long. But I did find a product that might be helpful for others to know about. It's called SurgiCream and is relatively inexpensive. The first time I used it - it only burned a little on my upper lip. I also have to apply it to the sides of my face and down around the lower chin area. No sensitive problems there.

It works great (results will vary, I'm sure), but I do feel better about myself. (Makes me feel a little younger, too!)
