Amazon's Top 2008 Picks

Amazon recently posted its top picks for 2008:

I see in customer picks the latest Grisham book - The Appeal. It didn't get rave reviews. Finally, reviewers are telling it like it is. The books I've read (in my opinion) always had wonderful premises. Many of them started out great. Then, somewhere toward the latter third, characters would begin saying and doing things that didn't match their personalities any longer. A very noticeable trend, actually. It was as if the author got tired of them and just wanted to finish writing.
